Jon Update
Jon underwent surgery this afternoon and returned from recovery at 8 30pm. He is fine and has been given something so that he feels no pain. Should know more tomorrow about what happens next. Off to have a large glass of wine and a Diesel cuddle !
Wednesday
Great news Jon is fine and the surgeon managed to repair him in one go so no second operation. He will be able to come home next week but will be in a wheelchair for 3 to 6 months. We have a wheelchair access vehicle and I intend to get him to the fun day (camera in hand) and hopefully some local shows. He is just overwhelmed at the good wishes on the blog and the cards which are now pinned up on a notice board by his bed. I am going to take the camera in tomorrow not a pretty sight as he has not shaved since the accident!

good to hear jon is on his road to recovery.
it must be a common thing to do, ann-maries brothers' wife has fallen of the step ladders whilst gardening but has only broken her wrist, ankle and foot.
she too is in a wheelchair.

Och mathew, hope she is feeling better the trouble is there are too mant DIY jobs to do in the summer, and often not enoough time to do them in so we take risks!
You certainlly learn by your mistakes.

So pleased to hear he's on the mend. I recommend hiring one of those mobility scooters for the months ahead - it got me out and about with a leg in plaster last summer, and when you're hitched up to a bedlington in pursuit of a moggie you can reach quite a speed, though it's a tad bumpy.
