Mark at Crufts

Its great to be back in the show season, this weekend saw two shows in the North East. The first on Saturday was at the Northern counties sporting terrier show, at West Cornforth in Durham. Top honours went to Craig Richardsons bitch, Champion Upnorth Sister Bliss. The judge was Alan Vernall who came all the way down from sunny Scotland. I believe he enjoyed his trip down in to the North East & surely he enjoyed his lunch when we tucked into shepherds pie & vegetables, my car strained as we drove back to the train station!
IT WAS A GOOD TURNOUT FOR Alan with all the regulars in attendance, it was nice to sit back & watch the others compete. It was interesting to watch the younger dogs coming through, it should prove for good competition in the north at the agricultural shows in the summer!
Sunday saw Newton Aycliffe show, not as many bedlington exhibits as the previous day, neverless the winner went onto a creditable group 3 terrier. Another day off from the competing for me as I provided the stewarding for the terrier, I also had the duty of covering a very large stakes class of ladies & the KC junior handlers.
By now you should have your entries in for National Terrier, National Dog, Birmingham, WELKS & SKC.
In the North East we have the get together to look forward to this weekend, hopefully we have a good attendance & as usual we will have a few laughs together. bye for now, away to freeze my n*ts off in the motor home for a few days!
