Wednesday Evening news
Cody up in Skye has not been too well here is a letter I received from Marie this evening
I've had a bit of a health scare with Cody today.
I came home at lunchtime and he'd been passing blood and diarrhoea. He continued to pass a fair bit of fresh blood so I called the vet. We still don't know the cause although it has settled for now. He had a steroid injection and an antibiotic injection incase it is infection/inflammation. I suspect possibly something he's ingested as Briagha has been digging up bits of plastic and all sorts from the garden recently....but who knows?! He seems ok at the moment but I'm keeping a close eye on him. Briagha is absolutely fine! It was an anxious few hours for me though, especially having witnessed what happened to Shawn and then Kelly over recent times. I'll keep you posted of any changes. Marie
Do keep us posted Marie as you say he has just probably swallowed something out of the garden that has irritated his tummy or intestines.

Thanks folks.
He is ok this evening, sleeping a lot but no more bleeding thankfully.

Very scary Marie. Hope Cody is feeling better. I am sure he has just gotten into something he shouldn't have. Please let us know how he is.

Hi Marie, hope Cody is feeling better.... I had a similar problem with Jake on Tuesday... I dropped him off at the vets in the morning as he was booked to be castrated - but they rang me up at 10 to say they couldn't do the op as he had exploded when they got him on the op table with with liquid diarrhoea with lots of blood in it. He had been fine the day before. He's on antibiotics for a week and a specimine was sent off for analysis.. we're waiting for the results and hoping they don't find anything serious.
It is worrying when something like that happens, lets just hope in both cases its just something they've chewed and eaten - Jake's a devil for chewing anything plastic. Louise

It must be going around. Ralphie spent sunday evening sicking up bits of a an old tennis ball he'd eaten. They just don't learn. He hid the worst bits under a cushion upstairs , yuk!

Hi Marie, do you remember larry was really ill recently with the same, but the blood continued for a week, and he was very dehydrated, it left him with an inflamed bowel, sort of colitis, but i did find that the royal canin fantastic, only from the vets though as it has the medication in it, i am gradually introducing bits of chicken now, but i keep him on a very bland diet hope cody is well soon. x x

How is Jake today Louise?

Glad to hear Cody is still on the mend - you must be relieved Marie.

Jake is much better today - he's been eating well and no more diarrhea. We're just hoping that the results from the sample come back clear. Then I'll have to rebook his castration - poor boy.
