Monday and we hear from Victoria, who had a great day out yesterday with Jack
There were no classes this week but on Sunday we went to the Wye Beagle Working Show. This was our first working show and I was quite excited.
Jack went in for the novelty scurry (a very basic agility course). Jack got the fastest time on his first go round then later on he had another go but only managed third place when we left! There where some fast lurchers going round so this was a good place for Jack to be in. We only saw two other bedlingtons, most of the terriers there where russel types and fell terriers. We went in some working classes: Junior Handler under 14 (8 in the class) and any terrier this was the only class eligible for bedlingtons(10 in the class). Jack got 2nd in both! I am very proud of Jack as it was very hot and Jack behaved beautifully. As Jack has a show trim i was VERY happy with his placings.
On the way to the show we met a bedlington that was rescued by Barbara Butcher. She is 13 years old and is owned by Jemma Lucking. We also met a really dark blue bedlington at the working show she was another rescue by Frances Fuller. Her owner is Patricia Bird,a whippet owner who also works dogs. It was very interesting to see how the dogs at working shows where judged. We had lots of fun and I cannot wait to go again...
lots of love Victoria and Jack Bojangles.
Fantastic Victoria, very well done, you must be so proud of your little boy, I think you really enjoyed your day. I love going to the country shows but it is a shame as not many have Bedlington classes down in the south. It is always fantastic to see some working bedlingtons at these shows. I do hope you told Jemma and Patricia to check the blog and see the photos.
