Go on Twinkle - catch mommy a fur coat!
Hi Stuart where abouts did you spot the mink?
On the Staffs/Worcs Canal. They are fairly common along there.
Have they had a lot of the fish ?
haha think the mink wud get it!!!
No doubt they have had fish but as it's not a recognised specimen water it tends not to get the same publicity as on some waters, although I would say otters do more damage on that front. Where the problem really lies is with nesting birds. I have seen mink on the Teme 30 feet up a tree after nests.
They are quite vicious little critters I believe.
Hi Stewart, we too have seen mink on the banks of our local canal in Worcs. Stella loves doning eau de mink, can,t see, (or smell) the attraction myself !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jane xxx
Hello Jane, I think they are quite widespread in our area (I live in south Staffordshire, close to the Worcestershire border)
Stuart did you used to live in Notts area or have I lost the plot?
So the dog spotted a Mink, and stayed on the bank? Why didn't Twinkle go after it?
Tina, you've lost the plot! The only time I go to Notts is to either fish or see Wolves play!Twinkle in the water ha! Won't even go in the garden when it's raining never mind in a canal after a mink.
