Thursday and time for our Northeast Natter from Julie

Good morning from the Northeast and the weather has been kind to us this week and the dogs have loved sunbathing. We have had a busy weekend with Jennine and Andy Alfie and Molly coming over on Saturday we just got down on the beach and the heavens opened the dogs didn't care and had a great time but we got soaked, as soon as we got back to the cars the sun came back out! Don't you just hate it when that happenes. All of the dogs were great together Molly and Piper had a great time chasing each other with the boys looking on. I then brought fish and chips with scraps, Jennine didn't know what they were, these southerns!
Sunday we had a trip over to the holiday cottage where Jennine and Andy were staying in Ilkley on the edge of the moors what a stunning place that part of the country is and only an hour and half from us. We went for a lovely meal at a posh Italian restaurant what a great weekend I didn't want to leave and go home. Looking forward to sunday and the northeast meet see you there. Good luck if you are showing this weekend as SKC safe journey and have a great time
love Julie xx
Thanks Julie I just love North Yorkshire, we had a cottage in Bedale in the Dales when Jon was posted up there, the countryside was outstanding, I always said we would eventually go back up there to live ! Me being southerner I don't have a clue what "scraps" are, they don't sound very nice!

Hi Lesley.
Scraps are just the little bits of crumbly batter which comes off the fried fish, when you ask for scraps they just sprinkle them over your fish & chips.
Lovely with lots of salt & vinegar.

Bet you don't know what a Parmo is ?
Very popular in the Northeast (middlesbrough area).

Go on then what is it?

It's Pork or chicken escalope in breadcrunbs smothered in bechamel sauce topped off with cheddar Cheese, grilled and served with chips salad and sides of Chilli or Garlic dip.
Very popular in my neck of the woods
A large one costs about £7.00 and is enough for two.
Great for a friday takeaway treat with nice bottle of Red wine !!!
The down side is it's Mega fattening but hey once in a while why not.

Forgot to mention it's full title is a Parmesan.
Could be an Urban Myth but think it started off in a Kebab shop possibly in Middlesbrough.
Locals call it "Parmo"

Sounds lovely-we don't have anything sophisticated like that here.

Tina,
In our local kebab shop you can get a "Special Parmo"
This has all of the above mentioned ingredients but before the cheddar goes on they add peppers mushrooms & red onion Yummy!!
You can tell what we eat on a Friday evening.
