Wednesday And We Say Hello To Madeline In Wales

A long way to come for a haircut!

Yesterday Vera made a flying visit to Wales, as Parliament is prorogued pending the Queen's Speech later today.  The high spot was taking Poppy to Mo's for a haircut.  This has got to be some kind of a record for distance travelled for a trim - a testimony to Mo's highly regarded expertise!

Poppy looked lovely afterwards.  She's settling in well with Vera, and is getting better with people, although still a bit nervous of other dogs. Of course, Thandi had to have a trim too, so poor Mo was exhausted by the end of the session.

Unfortunately, we had a too eventful trip back to Swansea.  My car, which has been standing on the drive for 9 weeks, failed dramatically just outside Swansea.  The AA man couldn't fix it, and arranged for a recovery truck.  All this in pouring rain, and with Thandi desperately trying to kill the man in a yellow coat from the back seat.Interestingly, the driver of the recovery truck was a woman, and both dogs were her new best friends from the first.  We eventually got back to Limeslade at 10.15 pm, having left Mo's at around 5 pm.  Thandi and Poppy had excellent bonding opportunities throughout all these hours, which was good.

This is a silly picture of Thandi (taken before the trim!).  She's looks like she's practising for the Grand National on the arm of the settee. The weather is wild here this morning.  We took the dogs out at 7.30;  the tide was high and the waves were sweeping over the road.  We all got very wet but it was exhilarating. Thank you Madeline, poor you breaking down, luckily no worse for wear, I just love the photo of Thandi, she looks quite the bedlington jockey. I am so pleased Poppy is settling down it will take a little time for her to adjust to her new home.

Thanks Tony, but I wasn't driving, although we were in my car. But perhaps I will in a couple of weeks.

Only just switched on . Did I see Vera in a posh uniform in Parliament today? It looked like her on the news. So sorry about the breakdown - it's not funny when you have dogs or children on board. Loved the photo of Thandi. Fizz does exactly the same thing on the back of the sofa.

I would love to tell you what else went wrong I will leave that to Madaline !!! poor Vera had to drive around Wales on a wild goose chase,? it is so nice to see the two bedlingtons getting on well Poppy is a much travelled girl she is every where with Vera and takes it all in her stride investigating every thing that moves where as Thandi is a bit more laid back and they where both great on the table which makes the job a lot easier,

Oh dear Mo. Have I got to 'fess up? I couldn't find my mobile phone. We tried ringing it, both in Mo's house and in the car, but it didn't ring, so I thought I had dropped it at Lidl's. Vera drove back to look for it, but no success. Eventually we found that it was in the car all the time - it wasn't ringing because there is no signal at Mo's! I felt a proper Charlie!
