Jake Still Missing After Yesterday’s Search
No joy yesterday on search although dog prints have been seen and students now report having seen Jake but have not said anything!!! I am speechless. There are enough posters and flyers around the uni Jo
Thank you Brian and Carmel, not forgetting Jazz and Sapphire! please keep your noses to the ground girls and pick up a scent! Good luck everyone. Come on Jake, time to go home, please let yourself be found today x
I think that as there have been 2 sightings of Jake at the uni at different times and the security guard tried to catch him but he ran towards the woods, would it be a good idea for security to put out food for Jake and see if it tempts him and have a lead handy just in case? Anything is worth a try.
I'm checking all the time too on bedy blog hoping there will be some good news but I would have thought we'd have heard by now if there was. Every night, when I put my bedy in her warm bed, it makes me weep wondering where Jake is sleeping and how on earth he's coping in these freezing temperatures. It truly is heartbreaking. Hopefully, tomorrow, someone will report seeing him and he'll soon be home.
Mark has left a message tonight if you look at the original missing poster and read the sightings and info section below it. No joy today on search although dog prints have been seen and students now report having seen Jake but have not said anything!!! I am speechless. There are enough posters and flyers around the uni!!
I have been checking my email every couple of hours this afternoon hoping for good news. I know bedlingtons who live outside all the winter so hopefully he will survive the cold nights. On a positive note Jake can't be far away with all the sightings!!
There is still lots of hope for Jake. When we lived in Devon a dog went missing whilst on holiday with it's owners. They searched for the rest of their holiday but couldn't find him. They returned home, but went back every weekend for months to search. Local people put out food in the hope of catching him. Eventually, one weekend his owner returned and was calling him, when he suddenly appeared, very bedraggled, but safe and well.
Yes miracals can happen, I hope soon, I cant imagine what it would be like to lose either of my two. It makes you feel so much for the children that go missing and are never found doesnt it.!!
What a lovely story of Louise's about the lost dog in Devon eventually being reunited with it's owners. I'm really hoping Jake is reunited much sooner though. I'm becoming obsessive about this website now and am looking every few hours. I always look to see how long ago someone last put an entry and when I see a recent one, I hope that this is the news we're all waiting for! Am getting despondent now about him not being seen for a while, I only hope he hasn't been stolen and these freezing temperatures are also really worrying. I hope he hadn't recently been clipped and still has his longer, thicker coat. I can't stop worrying about him and pray for a new sighting and for him to be found very soon.
I really hope so but reading Mark's comments just now, they've been leaving his food and bonios out for him but they've been left untouched. He also searched again there again today but sadly no joy. one of the searchers said they'd covered a lot of ground on Wed and would have expected to have seen him if he was still there. It's all very sad. I can't believe the opportunities missed when he was seen but not reported to Mark, makes me want to weep. I now have a horrible feeling he's been stolen. If so, why oh why couldn't he have gone to a trustworthy person instead of someone dishonest as I can't believe with all the publicity, whoever may have him, isn't aware of it. Think I'd be looking twice at all the bedlingtons being walked in the area if it were me just in case (shouldn't be hard as they're not exactly a common dog). I'm still trying to remain positive tho.
Keep us informed, please, still cant stop thinking about him, Ive been feeding the street peoples bedlingtons, and that upsets me more than anything, they are so very cold as they sleep outside. Not that they live near me, but I have to go find them once a week. get a life eh!! oh well, x x
You sound a lovely person Patricia! it breaks my heart thinking of dogs living on the streets and starving. whenever I see a homeless person and dog, I always make sure I get the dog some food and chews and for the homeless person I buy soup or sandwich, rather than give them money. Regarding Jake, this is upsetting me so much. Have just read Mark's comments on the poster sightings/info page and also volunteers comments who are also looking for him. I think there may be a search again at Keele uni this Sat at 11.00 car park F. Someone has suggested it tho not been confirmed yet by Mark. He thinks JAke has been stolen and I can only think that it can't be by a very nice person as surely they know his owner is searching for him and would have seen his collar discs too. I can't bear to think about it. Dog thieves are the lowest of the low. I'm just keep praying for a new sighting.
Just looked at Jake update but still no news. It was aired on Stoke radio again today. Mark doesn't think there's any point in search this Saturday as there have been no more recent sightings around Keele uni. He's pretty certain he's been taken. I wonder if vets have some sort of national database where stolen dogs are registered and some sort of alert could be put out so anyone bringing in a new bedy, the vet could scan it to see if it's Jake. If there isn't such a thing, I think there should be because every dog needs to see a vet at some time. I still check on the blog several times a day to check for update. I pray we will see the words 'reunited' very soon.
Yes Jo still checking the blogs, hopeful of lesley putting a big JAKE FOUND heading, it just doesnt bear thinking about does it.someone has him, I think. what else can one do. I wish I lived near I could search too. can you imagine having a child stolen, OMG it would affect you for the rest of your life wouldnt it!
Patricia, have you read the update on Jake? Just looked now and there's been two further sightings yesterday about a mile away from where he was last. A man almost caught him but sadly he ran off. I'm getting excited again, surely this time, he'll found and back home soon!
Oh bloody hell, no sleep again tonight, where did you see the update Jo, I have only logged on to see if there was a red letter from Lesley. I so wished I was near, I would be out there all day. wishing everyone well, who is searching will check in again tomorrow, Jo.
Patricia, if you look at the 'Hello from the K9 crew' posting dated 28 Jan, underneath it is a photo of Jake with the words 'click here for details of Jake'. When you click it, his poster comes up and if you scroll down, there's a 'sightings and info' section where Mark & KAthryn, Jake's owners, and various other kind people searching for him write their comments. I was really expecting him to have been found today but no such luck yet, so frustrating. Thank goodness the weather is milder though for him at night. Hopefully, tomorrow will be the day!! Would type more but my bedy is lying on my knee making it awkward to type but I refuse to move her if she's comfy - mad aren't I?! ;D
No Jo your are not mad, my partner and I sit on the floor whilst my two have the sofa, thats mad. mine are on the bed behind me at the moment, I have just come to check again. shall have a look at the site. thanks jo.
Patricia, have you been looking at the updates on Jake? Certainly makes for compulsive reading with all these sightings. Thank goodness he's away from the traffic now and back where he's safe again near the uni. I think that's where he'll most likely be found. I think it's a brilliant idea about the barbecue to lure him in. I just wish his owner was around but he's away at the moment, as I'd have thought he's more likely to go to him or respond to his voice more than anyone else's. When will this story have a happy ending?!! You made me laugh about sitting on the floor while your bedies have the sofa. Have to admit, mine chooses where she wants to sit and we sit where's left, wouldn't dream of moving her. I reckon Caesar Millan wouldn't be be too pleased with us, but who cares?! So long as my dog's happy, then so am I :D
