Poor Dylan Is Attacked By A Staffie

!cid_tie_8D082C31F874B64_688_5DE7

Poor Dylan when we were out walking in our local field last night he was set upon by a Staffi,it grabbed him on the neck and wouldn't let go.This went on for about 5 minutes before we finally got it to let go,Ii have nothing against the breed in fact I know friends that have Staffies that play with my dogs, but this one was a big powerful dog that only had one thing on its mind and that was to rip my dog to pieces, it dragged and shook him like a rag doll it was so upsetting to see this.my dogs are so gentle they wouldn't hurt anyone or anything. We rushed him straight to the vets who done a good job cleaning him up, he has puncture wounds on his neck and a lot of bruising he may even need an operation we will see tomorrow wen he goes back to the vets.I couldn't send the pictures of him when it first happened as they are far too distressing Paul

So sorry to read about Dylan, I hope you have reported this incident to the police and  the Staffie owner accepts responsibility for his dogs aggression. I can’t image what you were going through trying to get this dog to let go of poor Dylan. Please update us on how he is doing.

We hope Dylan makes a full recovery, and the owner of the dog that attacked him accepts responsibility for this. There was a similar attack last year in our small town. A little, elderly bedlington was badly attacked by another dog, causing awful injuries. The police took no action because it was not a person who was attacked, and the bedlington's owner had to foot the bill, which ran into 4 figures. Happily the bedlington has made a full recovery.

My two Bedlington's were badly attacked by a fully grown Great Dane on their first outing after their puppy injections. They sustained terrible injuries and my girl almost died ! Police were called and no action was taken. The laws really need to change so that owners are made to accept responsibility for their dogs actions. Just to let you know I am thinking of you and Dylan at this awful time. Wishing Dylan a speedy recovery x love Helen

It is a horrible experience. Our old boy Fosbury was attacked a couple of years ago by a Labrador. He had holes all over him and the owners cleared off without helping.

We hope that Dylan mends well and soon. Bedlingtons are a hardy breed and he should recover well.

Paul, I hope that Dylan is on the mend. You could contact your local newspaper and ask them to run a piece about this, with a photo of the poor lad and a description of the dog and owner. Someone may come forward with a name.
