This week Tony went to Weardale Agricultural show in the small community of St John’s Chapel. We decided not to go, Sarah was busy cutting the hedge and we enjoyed some sunbathing. The wallers had their usual marquee, but instead of a demonstration, they have a wall building competition at this show. We were thrilled that Tony came home with 1st prize and a rather nice trophy. Best wishes Rosie, Jasper. Ed and Ossie.

Wow what a clever Daddy you have, the model is fantastic,  Where did Tony get the miniature spade?  It looks so real!

Each waller takes down and rebuilds a 'stint' which is usually a yard and a half long. Typical dry stone walls are 4foot 6 inches high.
The show field is next to the church, the vicar is very pleased, each year another section of the graveyard wall gets rebuilt.
